On Monday, a large-scale police operation resulted in the arrest of 13 individuals in the Walloon capital, as part of the national plan targeting major urban areas.

On Monday, law enforcement conducted a large-scale operation in the Namur region, resulting in the detention of 13 people. This intervention is part of the national scheme deployed in major cities, according to information from DHnet.
Approximately ninety-five officers from various services were deployed in the field. The targeted areas included the surroundings of the railway station, the Bomel district, the lower part of the urban area, as well as the centre of Jambes and Amée. Major access roads to the city, including motorway slip roads, were also subject to increased surveillance.
In total, 158 pedestrians and 63 vehicles were subjected to examination. The operation resulted in six detentions for judicial reasons, to which were added seven administrative measures. Six foreign nationals in irregular situations were also removed. With regard to offences detected, eleven proceedings for possession of illicit substances and nine traffic penalties were issued on the spot.
The police services announced that this type of operation would be repeated on a regular basis.
