E-scooter rider arrested after cocaine transfer in sock in Antwerp city centre
A man on an electric scooter was caught red-handed on Saturday in Borzestraat in Antwerp when he concealed cocaine in a sock. Police found a total of 8,500 euros in cash during a house search.

A drug dealer who rode through Borzestraat in Antwerp on an electric scooter on Saturday has been arrested after handing over cocaine in a sock. The neighbourhood team of Antwerp police zone spotted the suspect meeting someone in the street, where drug dealing activity had previously been recorded.
The scooter rider noticed the officers but rode on anyway towards the waiting customer. While keeping an eye on the police, he quickly exchanged something. He was arrested during an attempted escape. The buyer also fled and discarded a sock. Several metres further on, officers stopped him. During his detention, he resisted violently.
Ultimately, the buyer admitted that he had ordered three grammes of cocaine and received it in the sock. During a search of the scooter rider's home, officers found 1,400 euros in his bedroom. In another room there was a further 7,100 euros in cash. The investigating judge decided to remand the suspect in custody.
