House in Hechtel shot at: projectile strikes window, resident unharmed
At around 22:00 on Wednesday evening, a 43-year-old man from Hechtel alerted police. Multiple projectiles had struck his house on Crommertenstraat. Officers arrived at the scene immediately and cordoned off the area.
One window showed impact damage. The damage was limited — the projectile did not penetrate the glass. The type of ammunition used is still being determined. A shell casing was not found.
The judicial laboratory of Limburg carried out forensic investigation in cooperation with local police. A weapons expert was not brought in.
The resident was not injured. Neighbours were required to close their windows and doors. "We heard nothing," said a neighbour in conversation with Het Nieuwsblad. "There were lots of police cars outside."
The shooters have not been identified. The public prosecutor's office is continuing the investigation.
