Four armed men dressed in black with covered faces robbed a money changer in the Villa San Antonio area of La Paz, according to El Deber. The criminals took $us 4,000 and Bs 11,000 that the woman was carrying.
The robbery occurred on the evening of Tuesday, 22 September, when the victim was arriving at her home. At that moment, the men got out of a vehicle—two of them brandishing weapons—and fired a shot into the air.
The money changer's son attempted to intervene to protect his mother, but was beaten by the attackers. The woman, fearing a fatal outcome, chose to hand over the money and ask them not to harm her.
After seizing the cash, the four men fled in the same vehicle they had arrived in. During their escape, they fired two additional shots.
Colonel Ricardo Terrazas, departmental commander of the La Paz Police, indicated that the criminals would have followed the victim before carrying out the robbery. Terrazas also confirmed that, after the complaint was received, "Plan Z" was activated to locate the robbers.
