Residents of Yapacaní detain two alleged thieves and burn their vehicle
Two men were subdued by residents of Puerto Avaroa after being found with stolen items. The vehicle they were travelling in was set alight on the Santa Cruz-Cochabamba highway.

Two alleged thieves were detained by residents of Yapacaní municipality on the morning of Thursday 8 October, according to El Deber. The incident occurred in Puerto Avaroa, where mobilised residents managed to subdue the two men.
At the time of detention, the residents searched the vehicle in which the suspects were travelling and found wallets that appeared to have belonged to previous victims. In one of them they found documentation that allowed them to identify the owner. The vehicle, which was white in colour, did not have a number plate.
The residents suspect that the same vehicle had been operating for months in the communities of Puerto Avaroa, Nuevo Horizonte, San Germán and other areas of the municipality to commit crimes.
In response to the situation, the residents set the vehicle alight in the middle of the Santa Cruz-Cochabamba highway. The incident was recorded in videos captured with mobile phones by those present.
Police later travelled to the location to apprehend the alleged thieves.
