Councillor Murillo sentenced to two years in jail for fatal hit-and-run in La Paz
The vice-president of the Municipal Council of La Paz was convicted of manslaughter in a traffic accident. The incident occurred in November 2022.
Sentence for hit-and-run: two years imprisonment for councillor Adriana Murillo
Urgente.bo reports that Adriana Murillo, vice-president of the Municipal Council of La Paz, was sentenced to two years in jail for manslaughter, serious and very serious injuries in a traffic accident.
The judicial resolution declares her "author and guilty of the crime of Manslaughter, Serious and Very Serious Injuries in Traffic Accident, provided for and punished under art. 261 of the Penal Code", according to the ruling which identifies the accused as Adriana Ligia Murillo de la Barra, with ID 4920710.
The sentence must be served at the Obrajes Women's Guidance Centre in the city of La Paz.
The facts date back to 28 November 2022, when a 50-year-old man died after being hit by Murillo in the South zone of La Paz.
