4,600 litres of diesel seized in Chaguaya linked to illegal mining

Truck carrying 4,600 litres of diesel without documentation detained in La Paz
The Joint Task Force (FTC) Agricultural seized approximately 4,600 litres of diesel in the Chaguaya sector, La Paz department, according to El Deber. The operation was carried out on the night of Thursday, 24 September.
The fuel was distributed across 20 drums and a portable tanker truck inside a Nissan Condor truck. The driver was carrying purchase invoices for the fuel, but lacked the required travel document and sufficient documentation to verify the destination of the cargo.
According to a report from the Strategic Operational Command for Combating Smuggling (CEO-LCC), the driver claimed the diesel was to be delivered to a mining company. However, he also failed to present documents that would allow identification of the recipient company.
In light of these irregularities, the officers proceeded to seize the fuel and detain the vehicle. Authorities are investigating a possible connection between the cargo and illegal mining activities.
The CEO-LCC report does not specify the source of the fuel or the legal status of the driver. The institution indicated that it maintains controls at various points throughout the country to detect the diversion and irregular use of fuel and other products subject to inspection.
