Man detained in Santa Cruz de la Sierra implicated in trafficking of 52 kg of MDMA from CJNG
Alex David Coronil Polanco was arrested in Bolivia and extradited to Argentina for his role in an ecstasy trafficking operation linked to the Jalisco Cartel.

According to eju.tv, Alex David Coronil Polanco was located on Tuesday evening by the local division of Interpol in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. An international arrest warrant issued by the Argentine Federal Police (PFA) was outstanding against him. Following confirmation of his illegal entry into Bolivia, he was expelled and transferred to the Salvador Mazza–Yacuiba border crossing, where he was placed at the disposal of Argentine authorities.
The judicial investigation indicates that Coronil Polanco would have been part of the structure responsible for receiving the vehicle used to transport the shipment and for extracting the substance hidden inside it. The case centres on the seizure of 52 kilogrammes of MDMA—a quantity sufficient to produce one million ecstasy tablets—also known as Molly.
The shipment entered Argentina in October 2025 aboard the vessel Grande Hamburgo, hidden in an Opel Combo utility vehicle originating from the port of Antwerp, Belgium. The investigation was initiated in March of that year following a DEA alert about the shipment. The logistics for retrieving the vehicle were delayed at the Zárate port terminal following the death of the cartel's historic leader, Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias Mencho, in February.
The specialised website Encripdata links the operation to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), based on judicial sources. The official information comes from the Argentine Ministry of Security.
Investigations conducted by judge Meirovich enabled the activation of a controlled delivery at the Zárate port. In an initial phase, Luis Enrique C. O., a Mexican citizen identified as an alleged CJNG envoy; Á. R. G., a resident of Salta accused of having provided him with accommodation; and a Venezuelan citizen who is believed to have been hired as a driver for 2,000 dollars were detained.
With the detention of Coronil Polanco in Bolivia, the Justice system is seeking to close the net on the remaining links in the transnational network. Authorities are continuing the investigation to identify other members of the CJNG's logistics chain involved in the operation.
