Double murder in Potosí: 9-year-old boy and 15-year-old teenager stabbed to death
A 24-year-old man fatally stabbed two minors in a sports field in Agua de Castilla, north of Potosí. The suspect, linked to drug trafficking, fled and is being sought under "Plan Z".
Two minors murdered by stabbing on sports field in north Potosí
A 9-year-old boy and a 15-year-old teenager died on the night of Sunday, 18 October after being attacked with a knife on the sports field in Agua de Castilla, in northern Potosí, reported lapatria.bo. The attack occurred at approximately 19:30 hours, when at least six minors were playing ball in the area.
The suspected perpetrator was identified as Carlos Y. M., aged 24, who fled immediately after committing the crime and remains at large.
The attack
According to preliminary police investigations, the incident began minutes before the attack, when the victims allegedly insulted the aggressor as he was passing near the field. In response, Carlos Y. M. went to his home, took a knife and returned to the sports field where the minors were still playing.
Upon returning, the suspect attacked the two victims directly, inflicting multiple stab wounds on their bodies. Both minors were left agonising on the playing field for several minutes before dying. When police officers arrived at the scene, they only confirmed that the two bodies lay lifeless on a pool of blood.
Search operation
Following the incident, the Regional Police Command activated "Plan Z" to locate the fugitive. The Special Force for Crime Fighting (Felcc) released images of the suspect to facilitate identification by the public.
Authorities warned that Carlos Y. M. is considered highly dangerous, allegedly linked to drug trafficking and with a history of marijuana use. A contingent of almost fifty officers is carrying out patrols and raids in various communities adjacent to Agua de Castilla.
Colonel Luis Alejandro Meneses, commander of the Regional Police of North Potosí, confirmed that the perpetrator used a sharp weapon and assured that operations will not cease until his capture is achieved.
Families demand justice
The relatives of both victims are demanding the prompt arrest of the aggressor from the authorities. Meanwhile, the community of Agua de Castilla remains shocked by the violent crime that claimed the lives of two minors on what was supposed to be an afternoon of play on the town's sports field.
