Two Brazilian citizens were shot dead on the morning of Tuesday, 20 October in the El Valle de Akualand housing development, in the Valle Sánchez area of the municipality of Warnes. According to El Deber, the departmental police commander, Colonel Edson Fernández, confirmed the nationality of the victims following the start of investigations.
"The victims are of Brazilian nationality, there are some elements that indicate there has been use of a firearm, there are cartridge casings," the police chief declared.
One of the two men killed lived in the premises where the attack occurred. A woman who was at the scene at the time of the events was taken to police facilities to give a statement; Fernández clarified that she has no family connection with the victims.
Agents of the Special Force for Crime Fighting (Felcc) are deployed in the search for those responsible for the crime. According to testimony from neighbours in the sector, the hitmen—who would also be of Brazilian nationality—jumped over the fence of an adjoining house, executed the victims and subsequently stole a vehicle to make their escape.
