Former YPFB executive sent to Palmasola over adulterated petrol that damaged vehicles

Preventive detention ordered for former YPFB executive linked to destabilised petrol
Bolivian justice ordered the preventive detention of Carlos Alfredo Cuéllar Pinto on Saturday 6 June for a period of six months at Palmasola prison in Santa Cruz. According to El Deber, the ruling was adopted at a hearing on precautionary measures and confirmed by prosecutor David Tórrez.
Cuéllar worked as former manager of Derived Products and Industrialisation at YPFB Corporación. He was charged with anti-economic conduct and breach of duty in the context of investigations into the destabilised petrol that caused damage to thousands of vehicles in Bolivia.
The hearing was scheduled for Friday, but had to be postponed because the defendant presented health problems and was transferred to a medical centre.
