Oruro court sentences man to 30 years for sexual crime against teenager

The Oruro Departmental Public Prosecutor's Office obtained a 30-year prison sentence against Wilson R.C., 39 years old, for the murder and rape of a 16-year-old girl committed in 2009, according to a report by lapatria.bo. Sentencing Court No. 3 handed down the sentence, to be served at San Pedro Prison in the city of Oruro.

The crime occurred on 28 May 2009. The victim was with Wilson R.C., three other men and a woman consuming alcoholic beverages. At the end of that gathering, the young woman was transported unconscious to the accused's residence, located in the Santa Rosa residential area, where she suffered the assault.

The forensic medical report established that the cause of death was subarachnoid haemorrhage and cranioencephalic trauma, a direct consequence of the sexual assault.

Prosecutor Zulmer Villegas highlighted the work of gathering evidence that sustained the accusation. "We carried out exhaustive follow-up in collecting the evidentiary elements and the samples processed by the Institute of Forensic Investigation (IDIF), which were fundamental in establishing the accused's responsibility," Villegas stated.

The sentence was presented by the Public Ministry as evidence of institutional commitment in cases of sexual violence.
