A man of approximately 29 years old was arrested for domestic violence at Plaza Eguino in La Paz, following his assault of a woman who presented visible injuries to her face, according to lapatria.bo. The incident occurred at approximately 07:00 hours on 20 September 2026.
Subofficial Edson Álvarez, from the Citizen and Family Mediation Unit, confirmed the case and specified the severity of the injuries observed. "Unfortunately, we were able to observe damage to the victim's face and, given these circumstances, this incident will be referred as appropriate to the Public Prosecutor's knowledge," said Álvarez.
The case will be referred to the Public Ministry and the imposition of protective measures in favour of the victim is anticipated. Álvarez noted that these measures are fundamental to guarantee her safety following the incident.
The police action falls within the controls established by Law 259. The subofficial highlighted that the Police regularly attend to cases of family and domestic violence in public spaces, as well as situations related to alcohol consumption.
