A 29-year-old man murdered his 26-year-old partner whilst she was showering, then transported the body by motorcycle to the banks of the Piraí River where he buried it.

A 29-year-old man ended the life of his partner, a 26-year-old woman, through an attack with a white weapon whilst the victim was in the bathroom. The incident took place in Santa Cruz and remained hidden until the attacker was summoned to testify regarding the woman's disappearance, at which point he admitted his responsibility in her death.
According to statements by Edson Fernández, head of the Felcv, the woman had been missing since 3 June. Her relatives had demanded her location. On Wednesday, 10 June, a week later, the body was found.
The perpetrator stated in his account that, after committing the homicide, he removed the two children from the property—a six-year-old boy and a seven-year-old—and left them in the care of their grandparents. He then returned to the residence, wrapped the body with cardboard material and shopping bags, loaded it onto a motorcycle and left it buried near the Piraí River in a grave he had previously dug. He subsequently fled.
The incident became known around 16:00 on Wednesday and shocked the Santa Cruz population, according to statements from the Felcv director recorded by El Deber.
The accused remained in detention and, upon admitting his guilt, requested to undergo a simplified process to receive a reduced sentence. In the following hours a hearing would be held where the restrictive measures of his freedom would be defined.
