Bolivia's Public Ministry intensified search efforts for Maximiliano Oscar Martínez, a 30-year-old official of the Argentine Federal Police reported missing in the border city of Villazón since 11 September, according to lapatria.bo.
The investigative actions, coordinated with Argentine authorities and various units of the Bolivian Police, were concentrated in Villazón, where on the night of 11 September an operation was carried out to search and inspect several nightclubs and brothels.
According to the case background, there are indications that Martínez was present in those establishments during the nights of 8 and 9 September, dates prior to the loss of contact regarding his whereabouts.
The Departmental Prosecutor of Potosí, René Walter Cáceres Juchani, detailed that the work is being carried out jointly with representatives of the Argentine justice system, highlighting the participation of the Prosecutor of La Quiaca in the interventions carried out in the Bolivian municipality. The Potosí Prosecutor's Office also requested the cooperation of the Prosecutor of Tupiza to expand the search radius and reinforce proceedings in nearby towns.
During operations in Villazón's nightclubs, experts and investigators proceeded to collect and seize digital storage devices—DVRs and recordings from security cameras. This audiovisual material will be subjected to technical analysis to reconstruct Martínez's last movements and determine the moments prior to his disappearance.
The General Prosecutor's Office (FGE) stated that tracking efforts will be maintained actively and continuously in Bolivian territory, whilst strengthening the exchange of information and inter-institutional cooperation with Argentine authorities to clarify the facts.
