Simultaneous raids in Aramayo case: Tarija prosecution seizes mobile phones and documents
Prosecutors in Tarija conducted operations at the Senasag headquarters and in Yacuiba and Villa Montes. The case investigates the murder of former director Mauricio Aramayo.
Simultaneous operations in the case of Mauricio Aramayo's murder
According to El Deber, a commission of prosecutors from Tarija executed simultaneous raids on Wednesday as part of the investigation into the murder of former Senasag director Mauricio Aramayo. During the operations, documents, mobile phones and computer equipment were seized.
The raids covered the central office of the National Service for Agricultural Health and Food Safety (Senasag) in the Tarija capital, two properties in Yacuiba and one in Villa Montes.
The departmental prosecutor for Tarija, Lesly Alemán, confirmed the operations but declined to provide further details so as not to compromise the investigative strategy. Nevertheless, it emerged that analysis of the seized documents and mobile phones could lead to the identification of new individuals involved, who would be summoned to testify before the Public Ministry.
Aramayo was murdered on 8 January of this year in the city of Tarija, at the intersection of Ramón Rojas Street and Domingo Paz Avenue, when he was returning to his home by vehicle after attending a political meeting.
His death caused shock in the Tarija capital. Aramayo was close to President Rodrigo Paz Pereira and had served as departmental coordinator of the pre-electoral campaign in 2025.
