Six Brazilians accused of murders transferred to Chonchocoro from Santa Cruz
Six Brazilian citizens linked to crimes in San Ignacio de Velasco were sent to the maximum security prison of Chonchocoro. They are under investigation for the murder of four people and membership in a criminal organisation.
Six Brazilians accused of murders and organised crime arrive at Chonchocoro
According to reduno.com.bo, six Brazilian citizens suspected of participating in a series of criminal acts in the municipality of San Ignacio de Velasco, in the department of Santa Cruz, were transferred on Wednesday to the maximum security prison of Chonchocoro, in La Paz.
The operation began at Viru Viru International Airport, from where the six accused departed with police escort under strict security measures. Their final destination is the Chonchocoro prison, where they will remain in preventive detention.
Accused of four murders and organised crime
The preliminary report indicates that the six foreign nationals are under investigation for the murder of four people that occurred in the municipality of San Ignacio de Velasco in Santa Cruz. The authorities also point to the alleged existence of a criminal organisation linked to these acts.
Two accused had been transferred previously
Two of those implicated had previously been transferred to the department of La Paz, entering through El Alto International Airport before being taken to the same Chonchocoro penitentiary centre.
The Police continue to follow the case as the corresponding investigations advance.
