Tatiana Marset linked to chemical precursor network; Uruguayan detained

Bolivian prosecutors seek to revoke Tatiana Marset's house arrest following Paraguayan alert

Tatiana Marset has been linked by Paraguayan investigators to an alleged network dedicated to transporting chemical precursors from Paraguay to Bolivia, according to telenoche.com.uy. As part of that investigation, a 52-year-old Uruguayan citizen was detained in recent hours as one of the principal figures in the operation.

The prosecution handling the case against Marset in Bolivia has requested that her house arrest be revoked. The request is based on an alert issued by Paraguayan police regarding telephone contacts that the sister of a Uruguayan drug trafficker—detained in the United States—allegedly maintained with the arrested Uruguayan, according to information from Bolivian media outlet La Razón.

According to investigators, Marset had direct communication with the detainee and was allegedly the person who received or made payments in Bolivia for the shipments of chemical products.

Her lawyer, Mónica Terrazas, rejected the allegations. "Tatiana has no link whatsoever, nor any connection, with any person involved in these matters," she stated in conversation with El Deber. Terrazas also challenged the evidence on which the Bolivian prosecution bases its request.

The defence lawyer added that when she consulted her client about the individual in question, Marset responded that she did not know him and maintains with him neither friendship nor any family relationship.
