Bolivian police recovered a 2026 Toyota stolen near Ezeiza airport thanks to a second satellite tracking system.

High-end Toyota stolen in Argentina located and recovered in Challapata
The Oruro police recovered a Toyota vehicle, 2026 model, stolen in Buenos Aires, Argentina, during an operation conducted in the town of Challapata, according to lapatria.bo. The vehicle had been transported to Bolivian territory with the intention of being sold illegally.
Colonel Miguel Ángel Zambrana Aguilar, departmental commander of the Oruro police, detailed the operation at a press conference. The vehicle was stolen in the vicinity of Ezeiza airport in Buenos Aires and entered Bolivia directly towards Challapata.
The criminals deactivated one of the automobile's satellite location systems, but did not detect a second tracking system. It was precisely that second device that allowed Diprove personnel to locate the vehicle with precision and carry out the recovery.
The operation faced resistance: some residents attempted to obstruct police work to prevent the seizure. Despite this, the tactical team succeeded in removing the vehicle promptly, according to Colonel Zambrana's account.
Bolivian authorities are currently coordinating with their Argentine counterparts to manage the return of the vehicle to its legitimate owner. The case, according to police, underscores the importance of bilateral cooperation to combat vehicle theft between neighbouring countries.
Colonel Zambrana also issued a public warning about the purchase of vehicles at unusually low prices. "We cannot be naive and say that we have bought a high-end vehicle that costs more than 100,000 dollars for just 10,000 dollars," he stated. The police authority noted that such offers are a clear indicator of criminal origin.
The police also emphasised the need to reinforce border controls and intensify preventive actions against the entry of stolen vehicles from neighbouring countries.
