17-year-old girl suspected of killing influencer in Teresina investigated for another murder

Girl suspected of killing influencer at Club of Engineering also targeted by Draco

A 17-year-old girl indicated as the author of the shots that killed influencer Rafaella Freira Cabral, 22, in Teresina, is also being investigated for involvement in another homicide. The information was disclosed by the Department for Repression of Organized Criminal Actions (Draco), as reported by g1.globo.com.

"She was already being investigated by Draco. We have information that she previously participated in a crime tribunal, alongside other individuals who have already been arrested," declared delegate Laércio Evangelista.

The girl remains at large. According to delegate Nathália Figueiredo, of the Department of Homicide and Protection of Persons (DHPP), she has not yet been located by the authorities. Rafaella's murder occurred on 20 September at the Club of Engineering in the East Zone of Teresina.

On Friday (9), a joint operation by Civil and Military police resulted in the arrest of two suspects — identified as Manuel Messias and Sérgio Eduardo — and the seizure of the car that, according to investigations, was used in the crime. A woman also suspected had been arrested about eight days after the murder.

According to the Civil Police, Sérgio Eduardo confessed to participation in the crime during questioning.

Adolescent holds prominent position in the faction

Delegate Nathália Figueiredo highlighted that the minor under investigation holds a relevant position within the criminal organisation being monitored by authorities.

"Investigations even point to the perpetrator being this adolescent, who holds a position of importance in the faction, which is why we continue with our investigations," said the delegate.

Victim was forced to go to the crime scene

Images obtained during the investigation indicate that Rafaella Cabral was forced to travel to the Club of Engineering, where she was killed. According to the delegate, the suspected adolescent was in a vehicle and got out of the car shortly after the influencer arrived at the location.

"It was established in witness statements that they held her and, immediately after, the adolescent, who was in this vehicle, gets out of the vehicle and fires the shots," detailed Figueiredo.

Relations with criminal factions and discussion prior to the crime

According to the investigation, Rafaella Cabral had maintained relations with members of criminal factions, a circumstance that may have contributed to the outcome. Before the murder, the influencer had become involved in an argument with the woman arrested eight days after the crime — a suspect distinct from the adolescent indicated as the author of the shots.

"The argument was with an adult woman, and she was actually the one arrested about eight days after the crime. As though it were a spark that set off the situation. We understand that she would have even identified Rafaella at the club and passed on a photo to the perpetrators," concluded the delegate.
