Brazil: Suspected serial killer arrested disguised as woman in Paraíba

Suspected serial killer in Brazil caught wearing wig and women's clothes
According to In.gr, a 33-year-old Brazilian considered a suspect in at least 16 homicides was arrested whilst attempting to escape disguised as a woman.
Jorlan Lopes da Silva was located last Sunday following a 30-hour manhunt in a forested area of Paraíba, a state in northeastern Brazil. At the time of his arrest, he was wearing women's clothes and a wig with black, long hair, while cradling an infant in his arms.
Local police announced today that the suspect committed the murders from May onwards. During questioning, he confessed to 11 of the 16 homicides attributed to him by authorities. He also claimed to have been involved in at least 80 additional homicides — something authorities have not confirmed to date.
The authorities have not released details to the public about the identity of the victims or the manner in which they were killed.
Several weeks before his arrest, the 33-year-old had managed to escape during an armed confrontation with authorities, who considered him a member of a violent criminal organisation.
In a video from his questioning, which came into the possession of the French news agency, the suspect states that he acted alone and denies any connection with criminal organisations in the area. He insists, however, that all the victims were connected "with crime" and that his purpose was to administer justice himself, as his family was receiving threats.
"I have never acted against a father, a mother, a worker," he says characteristically in the video, whilst also denying that he is "a psychopath".
He also claimed that he committed his first murder at the age of 13.
