Rio de Janeiro Civil Police arrested a man with an outstanding arrest warrant for fraud; his partner, linked to bodybuilding, is accused of unlicensed pharmacy practice.

Couple linked to bodybuilding detained in Rio after Civil Police operation
The Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro arrested, on Tuesday (13), a man with a 16-year conviction for fraud and an outstanding arrest warrant, according to cnnbrasil.com.br. In the same operation, his partner — who presented herself as a nutritionist and pharmacist to famous bodybuilders — was taken to the police station.
During the action, officers seized two luxury armoured vehicles associated with the couple, who operated in the bodybuilding environment.
The operation was conducted by the Robbery and Motor Vehicle Theft Division of the Capital after reports that two luxury cars with possible falsified identification markings were being used by the couple. Preliminary investigations indicated that one of the vehicles was registered in the man's name, which led to the identification of the outstanding arrest warrant.
Police also discovered that the suspect's partner displayed academic qualifications — among them a master's degree and PhD in Pharmacy — which she did not possess. Analysis of social media and other open sources indicated evidence of irregular professional activity.
After identification of the irregularities, the couple was located and approached. The man was arrested in compliance with the court order; the woman was taken to the police station for appropriate proceedings.
The police authority determined that the woman would be charged with the crime of unlicensed practice of medicine or pharmacy. Investigations are continuing to identify possible further victims.
CNN Brasil reported that it is seeking to contact the defence representatives of those under investigation.
