The Civil Police have indicted a 23-year-old man for attempted murder after he attacked a 30-year-old doorman with a knife at a building on Avenida Embaixador Pedro de Toledo in São Vicente, on the coast of São Paulo. According to g1.globo.com, the suspect gave a statement after being summoned to appear at the municipal Police Headquarters.
The attack occurred at around 4:20 a.m. on Friday (2). According to the incident report, the attacker approached the booth where the victim was working and lunged with a knife, shouting "I'm going to kill you".
Security camera footage shows the doorman sitting inside the booth at the moment the man appears at the window and delivers the stab wounds. The attacker then enters the location and continues the assault; the victim uses the chair to defend himself.
The suspect appeared at the police station in the afternoon of Tuesday (6) and was released after being indicted. The victim was heard by the authorities but did not request precautionary measures against the perpetrator. The Civil Police also indicted witnesses to the crime to be heard later.
According to the Public Security Department (SSP), investigations are continuing as attempted murder at the Police Headquarters in São Vicente. Information about the doorman's state of health had not been released as of the latest update to the case.
