A man was arrested on the evening of Friday the 16th during a police operation by the Military Police on Avenida Marechal Castelo Branco, in the centre of São Gonçalo do Piauí, according to g1.globo.com.
The detainee, identified only by the initials F. W. de S. P., was stopped by a team from the Military Police Unit (GPM) of São Gonçalo. The officers found a .32 calibre revolver with no identification marks on the man's belt, along with three intact rounds of ammunition of the same calibre.
According to the Military Police, the suspect is facing proceedings related to homicides that occurred in the village of São João, in Água Branca, and also in Porto Velho, capital of Rondônia. The force did not release information about the procedural status of the cases.
Following the stop, F. W. de S. P. was formally arrested and was taken, along with the seized firearm and ammunition, to the Civil Police Station in Água Branca, where he was placed at the disposal of the judiciary.
