Operation Clã arrests three suspects for drug trafficking in São Paulo das Missões

Operation Clã: 60 police officers combat trafficking in São Paulo das Missões and Roque Gonzales

On the morning of Tuesday (07/10), the Civil Police of Rio Grande do Sul, through the Police Station of São Paulo das Missões, launched Operation Clã, according to information from pc.rs.gov.br. The action resulted in the execution of three preventive arrest warrants against individuals under investigation for drug trafficking in the municipality.

Parallel to the arrests, thirteen search and seizure warrants were executed at the addresses of the suspects, located in São Paulo das Missões and Roque Gonzales. Among the items seized were mobile phones, cannabis plants, a 36mm calibre shotgun and a precision scale. One of the suspects was found in illegal possession of a firearm and charged in flagrante.

The operation was coordinated by delegate Rogério Junges and involved the participation of sixty civil police officers from police stations in the 27th Police Region of São Luiz Gonzaga, the 13th Police Region and the 8th DECRAB, both based in Santo Ângelo. The Military Brigade also provided support during the proceedings.

The investigations revealed that a group of individuals, some with personal and family ties to one another, had formed an association to engage in drug trafficking in São Paulo das Missões. The commercialisation was carried out using a method known as "dead delivery": the drug is hidden at a previously agreed location and the buyer receives directions from the supplier to locate it, avoiding direct contact between parties and making identification of those involved more difficult.

According to the Civil Police, investigations continue with the objective of identifying other members of the criminal group, mapping the entire associative structure and gathering additional evidence for the criminal prosecution of those involved. After legal formalities, the three arrested individuals were transferred to the State Penitentiary of São Luiz Gonzaga.
