Operation Iron Ladies arrests suspects in sexual crimes and domestic violence in São Paulo's east zone

Sixth phase of Iron Ladies targets suspects of sexual abuse and family violence in four districts

The Civil Police conducted the sixth phase of Operation Iron Ladies on the morning of Thursday (15), according to information from agenciasp.sp.gov.br. The operation calls for the execution of eight arrest warrants against individuals under investigation for sexual crimes and domestic and family violence against children and adolescents in districts of the east zone of the São Paulo capital. At the time of the partial update, two suspects had been arrested, with investigations still ongoing.

The warrants are being executed in the districts of São Mateus, Cidade Tiradentes, Cidade Líder and Jardim Aricanduva. The operation is conducted by police officers from the 8th Women's Defence Police Station (DDM) and aims to hold the suspects accountable and increase efforts to combat violence against women, children and adolescents.

The chief delegate of the 8th DDM, Jesleny Cavalcante, emphasised the relevance of actions targeting these crimes.

"Operations such as Iron Ladies are fundamental for advancing investigations, holding perpetrators accountable and reinforcing that sexual and domestic violence crimes are treated with seriousness by the Civil Police," said Cavalcante.

In addition to executing the warrants, the Civil Police work in conjunction with the Military Police in monitoring victims of domestic violence. Integration between the two institutions seeks to strengthen the protection network, broaden support for women and ensure faster responses in situations of risk.

"This joint work is essential so that victims are not left without support. Investigation and monitoring must go hand in hand to interrupt the cycle of violence and ensure greater safety for those seeking help," added the delegate.

Jesleny also reported that the police maintain contact with victims even after investigations are concluded. In certain cases, especially those involving adolescents, the team conducts visits and sends flowers to victims.

New results from the operation will be released after the completion of all investigations.
