The Federal Police launched Operation Hydra on Tuesday (29 September) to dismantle a group suspected of interstate drug trafficking, criminal association for trafficking purposes and money laundering, according to gov.br.
Five search and seizure warrants were executed in the municipalities of Guajará-Mirim, Porto Velho and Cacoal, all in Rondônia. The court orders were issued by the 2nd Guarantees Court of the Porto Velho District.
The investigation originated from a drug seizure. Analysis of the material seized indicated the existence of a structured organisation, with members responsible for logistics, the commercialisation of narcotics and the movement of funds generated by the illicit activity.
The suspects identified during the operation may face charges of drug trafficking, criminal association for trafficking purposes and money laundering.
