The São Paulo Military Police launched an operation against organised crime in Paraisópolis, south zone of SP, with 174 police officers, drones and aircraft. One detainee is wanted by the Paraná Justice for robbery.
PM carries out major operation against organised crime in Paraisópolis
The São Paulo Military Police launched, on the morning of Friday the 25th, an operation to combat organised crime in the Paraisópolis community, south zone of the state capital. As reported by jovempan.com.br, the action mobilised 174 police officers, 61 vehicles, an aircraft, a drone and 16 dogs.
Teams from the 16th Metropolitan Military Police Battalion (BPM/M), the Special Police Actions Company (CAEP) West, the Central Canine Unit and special actions battalions from the Capital and the Metropolitan Region are participating in the operation. The Military Police Operations Centre (Copom) provides additional support with aircraft and drones.
To date, the PM has not disclosed the total number of arrests or the complete balance of seizures. The corporation reported only that one of the detainees is wanted by the Paraná Justice for robbery. According to the PM, the arrest reinforces previous records about the presence of criminals from other regions who establish themselves in Paraisópolis with support from members of the local organised crime.
