FICCO executes 30 warrants in Paraíba in operation against criminal organisation
The Integrated Force to Combat Organised Crime (FICCO) launched an operation on Wednesday (16) against suspects of drug trafficking, money laundering and homicides in João Pessoa, as reported by g1.globo.com. In the state of Paraíba, 30 judicial warrants are being executed — 17 search and seizure warrants and 13 preventive arrest warrants.
The 2nd Regional Court of Guarantees of the State of Paraíba also ordered the freezing of financial assets of up to R$ 750,000, in addition to the seizure of property and other asset restrictions against the investigation targets.
The operation is the second phase of Operation Trapiche, carried out under the scope of Operation Integrated Force IV, a national initiative conducted simultaneously in several states. The investigation continues the first phase and has a specific focus on the financial structure of the criminal organisation.
During the execution of the warrants, a woman was arrested on Wednesday morning in the S Community, in the Roger neighbourhood, in João Pessoa. The Civil Police identify her as the "first lady of drug trafficking" in the region and state that she would be the wife of one of the leaders of local trafficking.
The operation is coordinated by the Federal Police in conjunction with the Civil and Military police, with participation of FICCO/PB and the Special Action Group to Combat Organised Crime (GAECO). Integrated into FICCO in Paraíba are the Civil Police, Military Police, Penal Police, National Secretariat for Penal Policies, State Secretariat for Security and Social Defence and State Secretariat for Penitentiary Administration.
