At least 28 people were detained by the Federal Police on Sunday (4) in operations against electoral crimes carried out across seven states and the Federal District, according to information provided by agenciabrasil.ebc.com.br. The incidents were recorded in Roraima, Acre, Rondônia, Amapá, Federal District, Paraíba, Bahia and Minas Gerais.

Vote-buying and irregular electoral propaganda are the principal offences under investigation. The Federal Police seized R$ 57,379 in goods and valuables, of which R$ 34,228 was cash.

By 9am, the force had opened three police inquiries and drawn up six detailed incident reports for investigation of the crimes. The Federal Police operate across the entire national territory on this voting day both in the prevention and suppression of electoral infractions and in the investigation of possible crimes against the Electoral Justice.
