The Federal Police arrested three people in flagrante delicto for international drug trafficking between 16 and 18 September at São Paulo/Guarulhos International Airport, according to information released by gov.br. The operations resulted in the seizure of approximately 26 kg of narcotics and US$ 11.5 thousand in cash.

An American citizen who disembarked from a flight from Mexico City was detained with 11 kg of hashish in her baggage. The drug was located with the assistance of detection dogs during routine inspection.

During the same period, a man with dual citizenship was intercepted while attempting to board a flight to Doha, Qatar, with a final destination of Yerevan, Armenia. With him were found 10.5 kg of cocaine hidden in packaging, in addition to US$ 11.5 thousand in undeclared cash.

In a third operation, a Canadian citizen was arrested in flagrante delicto when attempting to board a flight also to Doha, transporting 4.5 kg of cocaine concealed in baggage.

The three suspects and the seized materials were forwarded for judicial police proceedings.
