TCP drug trafficker arrested at Galeão airport on return from Dubai trip

Rio de Janeiro's Civil Police arrested Thiago Américo do Livramento, known as "Cocão", on Thursday (17) at Tom Jobim International Airport at Galeão, in the North Zone of the capital. According to g1.globo.com, the suspect was returning from approximately one week of travel to Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, when he was detained by agents from the 6th DP (Cidade Nova), with support from the Federal Police.
Livramento is identified by the corporation as leader of a criminal structure of the Third Pure Command (TCP) specialised in receiving stolen and theft cellphones, mainly iPhones, in the South Zone of Rio.
According to the investigation, the devices were subjected to unlocking procedures that allowed access to victims' bank accounts for carrying out financial fraud. Subsequently, the phones were resold. Part of the profits obtained from the scheme was destined for financing drug trafficking in the São Carlos Complex, police allege.
Investigators had been monitoring Livramento for months. The trip to the emirate was identified by authorities, who executed an arrest warrant issued by the courts at the moment of disembarkation.
During his days in Dubai, "Cocão" posted records of his stay on his social media: videos at the wheel of luxury cars, photos at tourist spots — including a skyscraper — and images with designer shopping bags.
