As reported by Google News CH — Crime (de), a 23-year-old Swiss man evaded a police check on Gotthardstrasse in Oberarth on Tuesday evening and fled. At 22:00, the driver bypassed the checkpoint of the Cantonal Police Schwyz, whereupon a patrol immediately gave chase.
The man did not respond to the police's stop signals and drove at times significantly exceeding the speed limit in the direction of Goldau. Continuing towards Steinen, he overtook at least two other vehicles before continuing his journey via Sattel and Mostelberg to Haggenegg.
A second police patrol managed to stop the driver at 22:30 on Haggeneggstrasse in Ried ob Schwyz. The driver's licence was provisionally revoked, and his vehicle was seized. He must now answer to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Canton Schwyz.
The Cantonal Police Schwyz is seeking witnesses who were in the region of Oberarth, Goldau, Steinen, Sattel, Mostelberg or Haggenegg on Tuesday evening and noticed a Subaru.
