Armed robbery at Burger King in Lupfig – suspects flee with thousands of Swiss francs
Three masked men robbed a Burger King branch in Lupfig in the early hours of Monday and made off with several thousand Swiss francs in cash.

Three masked and armed men robbed the Burger King branch on Hausenstrasse in Lupfig in the early hours of Monday. According to Google News CH — Crime (de), the perpetrators fled with several thousand Swiss francs in cash, leaving the employees in shock.
Shortly before midnight, as four staff members were tidying up the restaurant after closing time with no customers present, the three men stormed the branch wearing balaclavas. One of them threatened the staff with a pistol and demanded the handover of cash. The employees offered no resistance.
Whilst two of the robbers fled with the haul, the armed man sprayed a member of staff with pepper spray before he too made his escape.
Major manhunt yields no results
The staff immediately alerted the cantonal police, who then launched a major manhunt. Security camera footage recorded the robbery and shows one of the perpetrators threatening an employee with the weapon whilst his accomplices take the money.
"It is unclear how and in which direction they fled. They disappeared into the darkness," police spokesman Bernhard Graser told the Aargauer Zeitung. Despite the recordings, there has so far been no trace of the three men.
Frank Sedleger, the branch manager, rushed to the scene immediately after the robbery. "We are all very shocked," he said. He advised the affected employees to seek victim support and assured them of his full support. They would be able to return to work if they felt ready to do so.
Perpetrators aged between 25 and 30
According to police, the three robbers are aged between 25 and 30. The armed man is approximately 180 centimetres tall and wore a jumper, jeans and black shoes; he apparently spoke in the local dialect. The two accomplices are somewhat shorter and dressed similarly.
The cantonal police of Aargau are seeking witnesses who may have spotted the men before or after the incident. It is believed that a vehicle was parked nearby. The public prosecutor's office has opened a criminal investigation.
