Body of Aude Fagot found hanged in Switzerland, three months after disappearance in Doubs
The 44-year-old nurse, who disappeared on 31 May in Doubs, was identified through DNA testing. Her body had been discovered on 23 August in the woods of Baulmes.

The body found on 23 August in the woods of Baulmes, in Swiss territory, is indeed that of Aude Fagot, a 44-year-old nurse reported missing since 31 May. This was announced on Thursday by the Procureur de la République of Besançon, Cédric Logelin, in a statement reported by TF1 Info.
Walkers had discovered the body hanged in this wooded area, in a location without access roads. The North Vaudois public prosecutor's office was immediately notified. The autopsy carried out on 26 August favoured the hypothesis of death by hanging, finding "no evidence of third-party involvement", according to the prosecutor's statement.
A tattoo on the victim's neck had allowed an initial identification. DNA testing conducted on 28 August subsequently confirmed that it was indeed Aude Fagot. "Additional examinations were requested by the Swiss authorities, the results of which are not yet known", specified prosecutor Logelin.
The nurse had not been heard from since 31 May. Her father reported her disappearance on 2 June, and her vehicle was located on 4 June in the Jougnes forest, near the Swiss border. Search operations organised throughout the summer had failed to find her.
A judicial inquiry was opened on 9 June. The prosecutor indicated that "the Swiss judicial authorities will now be approached by this magistrate for the purpose of communicating the investigation conducted following the discovery of the body".
