In the northern Swiss town of Aarau, north of Zurich, shots rang out near a rave party during the night – as reported on Sunday by 15min, citing information from local police and Swiss newspaper "Blick".

The incident occurred around 3 a.m. local time (4 a.m. Lithuanian time) at the annual techno music event "Aarauer Rave", which drew around 3,500 people from Saturday to Sunday.

Police spokesperson Vanessa Rumpold confirmed that the shooting took place at the hippodrome where the event was being organised. "Several shots were fired into a large group of people," she stated. One witness reported "rapid gunfire".

Officials posted on social network "X" that there are several injured parties, and large police forces were dispatched to the scene of the incident. "The search is currently ongoing for perpetrators still unknown," the police announced. The motive for the crime and the exact circumstances remain unclear so far.
