Sexual assault on 17-year-old in Birr AG – Police search for blonde moped rider

A 17-year-old Polish girl was sexually assaulted on a cycle path in Birr AG on Thursday evening. The perpetrator fled after she put up fierce resistance; Aargau cantonal police are appealing for witnesses.

Assault on cycle path in Birr: teenager resists unknown attacker

Shortly before 21:30 on Thursday evening, a 17-year-old Polish girl became the victim of a sexual assault on the cycle path between Birrfeldstrasse and the ABB underpass in Birr AG. According to Blick, the young woman was walking when a moped rider first came towards her.

A short time later, an unknown man attacked the 17-year-old from behind, pushed her to the ground and suddenly groped her under her clothing. The young woman resisted fiercely and caused the attacker to flee – this is how Aargau cantonal police described the incident in a press statement.

The search is on for a man aged between 20 and 30 years, 170 to 190 centimetres tall, with short blonde hair and no beard. At the time of the offence he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt; he is believed to have been travelling on a moped.

Aargau cantonal police have opened an investigation, and the public prosecutor's office has initiated criminal proceedings.
