Urban singer arrested in Coquimbo with firearms, death threats and sexual offence

The urban singer identified as "O.R La Luz" was remanded in custody after being arrested on 16 September by personnel of the OS-9 unit of Carabineros in Coquimbo, according to biobiochile.cl. The accused, with initials O.A.P.T., faces charges for alleged death threats, a sexual offence and possible violations of the Arms Control Act.
A judicially authorised telephone interception was key to executing the arrest. In the recorded conversation, the accused allegedly requested a third party to hand over "the pistols" and allegedly referred to individuals he called "hitmen".
The investigation originated from a complaint of abusive collection of an informal loan. The victim allegedly received 800,000 pesos in December 2024, a sum that subsequently increased to 5 million pesos. Unable to continue paying, she began to receive death threats.
In July 2025, the accused allegedly went to the victim's home, where he allegedly committed a sexual offence and subsequently threatened her to prevent her from filing a complaint. In November of the same year he allegedly returned to the location and reiterated the threats.
The operation was carried out on 16 September with support from GOPE, a few blocks from the main entrance to La Pampilla. The man was with his family and was preparing to participate in the National Holidays celebrations at the time of his arrest.
During the procedure, two 9-millimetre pistols and 33 cartridges of the same calibre were seized, as well as a tactical plate carrier, two metal plates and two tactical leg protectors. One of the weapons was registered as the subject of an active warrant for theft since 2020, and the detainee had no firearms registered in his name.
Carabineros stated that the accused, in addition to working as an urban singer, was in possession of firearms. After being formally charged, he was remanded in custody whilst the investigation continues into the three charges against him.
