Detectives from the Investigative Police (PDI) arrested a 42-year-old man as the suspected perpetrator of the parricide of his mother, aged 72, in the municipality of Pudahuel, Metropolitan Region, according to lacuarta.com.
The woman's body was found lifeless inside her home in the Ciudad de los Valles sector. According to preliminary information, the victim presented injuries attributable to third parties, consistent with blows from a blunt object.
The son was arrested in flagrante delicto in the municipality of Santiago. Subprefect José Cáceres, head of the Metropolitan Homicide Brigade, explained that the investigative work was key to identifying him: "A census was carried out, security cameras were reviewed, and we finally managed to identify the perpetrator, who is his son, who was arrested in flagrante delicto and will be brought before the courts."
Cáceres detailed that the proceedings included analysis of the crime scene, interviewing witnesses and reviewing security cameras in the sector.
