Homicide in Limache: 23-year-old victim dies stabbed near the ramadas

A 23-year-old young man died from a stab wound to the chest in a square of the Villa Isla Lenox neighbourhood in Limache, Valparaíso Region, according to a report by adnradio.cl. The incident occurred in the vicinity of the ramadas where Fiestas Patrias celebrations were being held.

On instruction from the Public Ministry, detectives from Valparaíso's Homicide Brigade and forensic experts from the Criminalistics Laboratory travelled first to Limache Hospital and then to the scene of the assault. The forensic medical examination established that the victim was a Chilean citizen with no police record, and that the wound to the chest caused him fatal trauma.

According to initial information, the young man was sitting in the square with other people when a group of between seven and ten individuals approached them. The encounter led to an argument that escalated into an assault that ended in his death.

The Police of Investigation (PDI) is also pursuing the hypothesis of robbery with homicide, given that those involved are thought to have stolen belongings from the victims present at the location.

In order to reconstruct the dynamics of the attack and identify those responsible, detectives are conducting interviews with witnesses, canvassing neighbours, and reviewing security camera footage from the sector.
