Bogotá Police arrested a 14-year-old adolescent in the El Amparo neighbourhood, in the Kennedy locality, according to bogota.gov.co. The minor was sought by order of the Seventh Criminal Court for Adolescents with Guarantee Control Function, within an investigation into his alleged participation in aggravated homicide attempted in grade.
The procedure was carried out in public when the minor was leaving his residence with his father. The arrest was the result of verification and follow-up work carried out by the Basic Criminal Investigation Unit.
According to investigations, the facts that motivated the judicial order occurred in February of this year. According to the official account, the adolescent was with a group of friends when a quarrel broke out. During the course of the altercation, the minor allegedly attacked a 32-year-old man with a sharp weapon, causing him serious injuries.
The adolescent was placed at the disposal of the requesting judicial authority for corresponding judicialisation proceedings. The authorities indicated that his rights were guaranteed at all times during the procedure.
The Protection and Special Services Section of Bogotá Police has recorded a total of 45 apprehensions of children and adolescents in the course of 2026.
