Two suspected robbers with four-year criminal records detained in Buenavista

The National Police, in coordination with the General Prosecutor's Office and the National Army, arrested two men in the Buenavista neighbourhood of Montería, Córdoba, identified by the aliases "El Flaco" and "Joche". According to policia.gov.co, the detention was carried out pursuant to a judicial order for the crime of qualified and aggravated theft.

"El Flaco", aged 27, and "Joche", aged 22, allegedly committed at least 25 armed robberies in the city, in which they used firearms to subdue their victims and rob them of their belongings.

The arrest was made possible through investigative work by the authorities, which included analysis of information and collection of material evidence. A determining factor was the collaboration of a victim whose case occurred in March 2025: the person was robbed of their belongings and suffered physical injuries during the incident. Based on that testimony, the authorities established the alleged criminal responsibility of the two individuals and obtained the respective arrest warrants.

The criminal history of both extends over four years. During 2025, they had already been arrested in flagrante delicto for illegal possession of firearms. "El Flaco" faces six additional criminal proceedings for theft, illegal possession of firearms and trafficking in narcotic substances. "Joche", for his part, has two further proceedings for theft and illegal possession of firearms.

The two detainees were placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority, before which they must answer for the crime of qualified and aggravated theft.
