Wanted poster for alias 'Moncayo' for murder of businessman and bodyguard on 85th Street with Seventh Avenue

Bogotá Police circulated a wanted poster for Isaac Daniel Rodríguez García, alias 'Moncayo', identified as the alleged perpetrator of a hired killing that occurred on 11 February in the Chapinero locality. According to bogota.gov.co, the incident took place at 3:40 p.m., when businessman Gustavo Aponte and his bodyguard were shot whilst leaving a gymnasium located at 85th Street with Seventh Avenue. Both died from their injuries.

The Office of the Attorney General determined that the attack was planned by a criminal structure that carried out surveillance, monitoring and logistical coordination activities. The investigating body's central hypothesis indicates that Aponte was not the real target of the attack: the businessman appears to have been mistaken for another person.

According to the investigation, 'Moncayo' allegedly changed his clothing before approaching the victims to open fire. Two suspected participants in the case remain in custody, whilst authorities continue searching for the main suspect.

The District Secretariat for Security, Coexistence and Justice published a message on X on 19 October requesting public collaboration: any information about the whereabouts of Rodríguez García can be reported to the number 305 814 3837 or through official Police channels.

The Emergency Line 123 is also available to report criminal incidents in the city.
