Man arrested with 10 bags of coca base in Montería neighbourhood during patrol
A man was arrested in the "3 Postes" sector of Colina Real neighbourhood with ten bags of suspected coca base. Police handed him over to the Public Prosecutor's Office.

The National Police arrested a citizen in the Colina Real neighbourhood of Montería for the alleged crime of trafficking, manufacturing or possession of narcotics, according to policia.gov.co. The operation was carried out by the South Police Station during patrol duties in the sector known as "3 Postes".
Officers observed a man wearing a light blue t-shirt, blue shorts and black flip-flops who, upon noticing the police presence, displayed suspicious behaviour. Applying police security and courtesy protocols, the agents proceeded to search him.
During the procedure, ten transparent zip-lock bags containing a substance with characteristics similar in smell, colour and texture to coca base were found in the citizen's right hand. The bags were ready for sale.
The detainee was identified at the scene and informed of the charges against him as well as his rights as a detained person. He was subsequently transported in an institutional vehicle to the facilities of the URI of the Public Prosecutor's Office, where he was placed at the disposal of the competent authority for his respective judicial processing.
Captain Germán Eduardo Tovar Arias, acting commander of the South Police Station, stated: "The National Police continues to strengthen patrols and controls in the different sectors of the city, in order to counteract narcotic trafficking and guarantee citizen security and coexistence. We invite the community to continue reporting any incidents that affect the peace and tranquillity of the neighbourhoods."
The institution reaffirmed its commitment to combating drug trafficking in Montería and urged citizens to report suspicious activities through the available telephone lines.
