Plea agreement approved for homicide at TransMilenio Minuto de Dios station

A trial judge approved the plea agreement signed between the General Prosecutor's Office and Kevin Leonardo Naranjo Lemus, who accepted responsibility for the murder of a university student at the Minuto de Dios station of the TransMilenio system, in the western part of Bogotá. According to pulzo.com, the crime occurred on 15 April 2026 in the context of an attempted robbery.

As a result of the judicial negotiation, Naranjo Lemus will receive a sentence of 17 years and 6 months in prison for the offences of homicide and aggravated theft in the form of attempted crime. The sentence will become final at the hearing scheduled for 29 October.

According to evidence gathered by the Technical Investigation Body (CTI), the victim was approached by at least three people whilst waiting for an articulated bus to return to his residence. During the struggle, the young man sustained a wound from a sharp object that proved fatal, after refusing to hand over his mobile telephone.

The investigation, conducted by a prosecutor from the Life Unit of the Bogotá Regional Office, determined that Naranjo Lemus stopped one of the TransMilenio articulated buses to facilitate the escape of the other individuals implicated in the crime. This conduct was decisive in the judge's approval of the plea agreement presented by the prosecution.

The Prosecutor's Office also reported that a second individual linked to the events has already been prosecuted and remains in detention, which represents further progress in clarifying the case. The authorities did not rule out the identification of other participants in the assault.

The Bogotá Mayor's Office reiterates to the public the importance of reporting criminal situations through the Emergency Line 123, noting that timely reporting is key to strengthening investigative processes in the city.
