Arrests in Bosa following vehicle theft in Ciudad Bolívar

The Bogotá Metropolitan Police captured two men in the Bosa Linda neighbourhood after recovering an automobile that had been stolen in the Ciudad Bolívar locality, pulzo.com reported. According to the official report, the alleged offenders intimidated the victim with a firearm to seize the vehicle.

The theft immediately activated a candado plan in the south of the city, an operation involving the coordinated closure of escape routes with support from security cameras and citizen collaboration. Rigorous surveillance of the suspects made it possible to locate them in a car park in Bosa Linda alongside the vehicle reported as stolen.

Upon inspecting the automobile, officers found that the ignition system had been altered and several cables were cut, evidence that reinforces the hypothesis of violent theft.

Both detainees have criminal records for theft, homicide and unlawful possession of firearms. Following their detention, they were placed at the disposal of the National Prosecutor's Office. A judge of guarantee controls imposed a measure of custody for the offence of receiving stolen goods, which under Colombian criminal law corresponds to receiving, acquiring or concealing goods of illicit origin.

A recent report from Bosa Police indicates that so far in 2026 more than 39 vehicles have been recovered and more than 1,250 arrests have been made for various offences in the capital and its surroundings.
