Arrest for drug possession in Montería following suspicious behaviour

According to policia.gov.co, National Police officers arrested a 32-year-old man during a search operation in the Juan XXIII neighbourhood of Montería after the subject displayed behaviour that caught the attention of patrol officers who noticed his presence.

During the search, officers found nine small bags marked with a black skull, each containing a substance allegedly corresponding to cocaine. The man was placed at the disposal of the competent authority along with the seized material, on charges of trafficking, manufacturing or possession of drugs.

Juan Guillermo Solórzano Julio, commanding officer of the Left Bank Police Station, stated that patrols and searches in different sectors allow for strengthening institutional presence and detecting in a timely manner situations that affect security and civic coexistence.

The National Police reported that it will continue strengthening surveillance, prevention and control operations in the different sectors of Montería, and called on the community to provide information that contributes to preventing local drug trafficking.
