Family demands clarification in homicide of man reported missing in February
The body of Michael Andrés Moreno Correa, aged 33, was found in a pasture in the municipality of Soacha, Cundinamarca, with evident signs of violence: several bullet impacts. According to citytv.eltiempo.com, the man had been reported as missing in February, after losing total contact with his family.
The discovery was made on 9 March. The family initiated a search through various official police platforms without obtaining results. It was an acquaintance who finally found a trace of the man at the offices of the Legal Medicine Institute.
"We started searching for him using his identity number in all the police applications and we didn't find him. An acquaintance went and searched for him at Legal Medicine and that's where they found him," recounted a relative of the victim.
Since then, those close to Moreno Correa assert they have received no clear information about the motives for the crime nor concrete support from the competent entities. The uncertainty about how and why the man ended up in that area of the municipality neighbouring Bogotá compounds the pain of his loved ones.
The family makes an urgent appeal to the judicial authorities to advance the investigation, clarify the circumstances of the murder and identify those responsible.
