Police apprehended a citizen in flagrante delicto with 12 bags of suspected cocaine base and a bladed weapon on Calle 23. The case was referred to the Public Prosecutor's Office.

Officers from the Margen Izquierda Police Station apprehended a citizen in flagrante delicto for trafficking, manufacture or possession of narcotics during a control patrol on the carrera at the height of Calle 23, according to information from policia.gov.co.
The procedure began when agents observed a man—dressed in a red jumper, grey hooded sweatshirt, beige cap and grey flip-flops—who inserted his hand into the waistband of his sweatshirt. The officers approached him immediately and requested a voluntary search, to which the citizen agreed.
During the search, police found a bladed knife-type weapon at the waist area and a red-striped bag containing 12 hermetic bags with a powdery substance that, by its colour, texture and smell, appeared to be similar to cocaine base.
The detainee stated that he was not carrying his identity document physically, but supplied his identification number verbally. He was notified of his status as a person apprehended and his rights were read to him. Along with the seized substance and the bladed weapon, he was placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office for the prosecution process.
Senior officer Pablo Andrés Agredo, commander of the Margen Izquierda Police Station, stated: "We continue to strengthen patrol activities, searches and control in the different sectors of our jurisdiction. This result demonstrates the commitment of our officers to the prevention and fight against local narcotics trafficking."
Agredo added that the institution invites the community to provide timely information that allows them to identify those who compromise citizen security, through the 123 line or other channels enabled by the National Police.
