Charged with femicide of 9-year-old girl in Ciudad Bolívar, Bogotá

Arrested and charged in the murder of a 9-year-old girl in Bogotá
A judge overseeing constitutional guarantees approved on the evening of Wednesday 16 September 2026 the charges of aggravated femicide and aggravated sexual acts against a minor under 14 years of age, against Shenner José Rojas Lárez. This was reported by bogota.gov.co, citing information from the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation.
The victim, a 9-year-old girl, was found dead on Tuesday 15 September in a rainwater drainage canal in the Juan José Rondón neighbourhood, in the Ciudad Bolívar locality in south Bogotá. The girl had been reported missing in the municipality of Mosquera, Cundinamarca.
The route of the crime, according to the prosecution
According to a prosecutor from the Special Unit for Investigation of Crimes Committed against Children and Adolescents, the events began on 14 September with a violent argument between Rojas Lárez and his partner at the residence they shared in Mosquera. While the woman went to a police station, the man allegedly took the minor, his partner's sister, and transported her on a delivery motorcycle.
The first destination was a property in the Fontibón locality in Bogotá. The following day, according to the prosecution, Rojas Lárez moved the girl to the Juan José Rondón neighbourhood in Ciudad Bolívar, where he allegedly caused her death by asphyxiation, and then abandoned her body in the canal.
The Office of the Attorney General of the Nation detailed on its X account the moment of the accused's arrest and clarified the route that, according to the evidence collected, the victim allegedly followed from Mosquera to Ciudad Bolívar.
Arrest in Los Mártires and denial of charges
The prosecution's Criminal Investigation Technical Corps arrested Rojas Lárez in public space in the Los Mártires locality. When presented before the judge overseeing constitutional guarantees, the arrest was formalised and the charges were approved.
The foreign citizen did not accept the charges brought against him and must remain in custody in a prison facility whilst judicial proceedings advance.
